For too long, Game of Thrones roleplay communities have carried a reputation for toxicity, cliques, staff favoritism, and cheating. At From the Ashes, we are dedicated to changing that experience by fostering a safe community that values immersion, fair play, and collaborative storytelling. Transparency is at the heart of our approach, and staff are held to the same standards we expect from our players.
We believe that a strong storytelling process, clear adherence to rules, and a participation-based leveling system will encourage players to engage with a wide variety of roleplayers while ensuring fairness. To further support this, we do not disclose which characters have the ability to bond with dragons. Similarly, roles involving magic or secrecy such as spies or the Master/Mistress of Whisperers will only be revealed to the approved player. These measures are designed to minimize metagaming by keeping player knowledge aligned with what their characters would reasonably know.
Finally, after careful study of the source material, we have crafted our vision of how magic, prophecy, and history might influence the current timeline through character exploration.
